Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport is located in Zhongchuan Town, Gaolan County,
Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, China, about 75 kilometers away from the city center. It is a 4E-
level international airport. It is one of the main airports in the northwest region, the air gateway to
Lanzhou City, the capital of Gansu Province, and the northwest region. important airports and
international alternate airports. The airport was built in the late 1960s. It was officially opened to
traffic on July 26, 1970 and named Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport. The first phase of the expansion
project was completed in 2001. On January 22, 2014, it was officially upgraded to an international
aviation port and renamed Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport. The second phase of the
expansion project was completed in early 2015.
