Hohhot Chelechuan International Airport is located in Horinger County, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia
Autonomous Region, China. It is about 38.5 kilometers northeast from the center of Hohhot. It is a
4F-level international trunk airport, a large regional hub airport in the western region, and the main
backup airport for Beijing International Aviation Hub. landing airport and the relocation of Hohhot
Baita International Airport. In October 2014, the site was approved; on January 2, 2019, the
feasibility study report was approved; on July 30, 2020, construction officially started. The airport
terminal covers an area of 260,000 square meters, with 130 aircraft seats on the civil aviation
terminal. The north runway is 3,400 meters long and 45 meters wide, and the south runway is
3,800 meters long and 60 meters wide. It can meet the annual passenger throughput of 28 million
passengers. It has a cargo and mail throughput of 320,000 tons and 244,000 aircraft takeoffs and
landings.
