Overview

The LED in-pavement approach light is intended for precision approach lighting systems (PALS) and can be used as an approach center-line light or a crossbar light. Center-line lights are installed along the extended runway center-line; crossbar lights are set perpendicular to the approach center-line. It provides visual guidance for aircraft on final approach at night and in low visibility, giving the pilot cues for alignment, lateral deviation and distance to threshold, and thereby assisting the pilot in judging the aircraft position relative to the runway center-line and the threshold. The light fixture is fitted with an LED source emitting a fixed unidirectional aviation white light output, and complies with ICAO Annex 14, Volume I, IEC TS 61827 and FAA AC 150/5345-46.

Features

  • The serialized design of lighting fixtures and modular design of components effectively reduce the inventory of spare parts.
  • The upper cover is made of forged aluminum alloy, high strength, good fatigure resistance combiningexcellent corrosion resistance and heat dissipation properties.
  • Prism sealing sleeve with multi-layer waterproof sealing structure design and easy to replace.
  • Low energy LED light source, with a comprehensive lifespan of not less than 100,000hours and lightattenuation is less than 30%.
  • Strict LED color management ensures a high degrees of consistency in the chromaticity output oflighting fixtures.
  • The dimming curve complies with the requirements of FAA EB67, and the dimming characteristics ofthe luminaire are similar to those of traditional halogen light source luminaires.
  • The integrated surge protection device features high surge with -stand capability, compliant with FAA EB67. It has successfully undergone 1.2/50μs - 8/20μs combination wave testing per ANSI/IEEE C62.41, withstanding 10kV peak open-circuit voltage and 5kA peak short-circuit current surges.
  • The overall degrees of protection is lP68, capable of withstanding an internal pressure of 138KPa or thewater pressure generated by the impact of aircraft tires on the window.
  • Optional fault detection function, which can achieve light fault open circuit in case of light source ordrive failure.
  • Optional specialized arctic kits.
  • The rated light beam output and heating function can be remotely configured through a set ofCCRlight level encoding instructions.
