As the world's busiest single runway, Shenzhen Airport starts the expansion project of the second runway after the approval by the National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC), in order to greet World University Games in August 2011 as well as deal with the demand of passenger throughput rapidly growing in recent years. The extension project is anticipated to be put into use in June, 2011, before the Games. The second runway is designed according to airspace class F with 3,800 meter in length and 60 meter in width. It can launch the biggest plane in the world - airbus A380. The runway and taxiways are completely equipped with Airsafe’s lights with the amount of 5000. Now, Airsafe is stepping up its production in order to meet the project process requirements.
